What's new?
You can now enter a different owner for customer vehicles. This is particularly useful for temporary vehicle use, such as:
- 🔄 Fleet rental – Vehicle is temporarily assigned to another customer
- 🚙 Vehicle Rental – Replacement Vehicles During Repairs
- 👥 Pool vehicles – Rotating users in the fleet
- 🏢 Company vehicles – Temporary assignment to employees or departments
Where can I find that feature?
When editing a customer's vehicle, you'll find the new "Different Owner" tab in the left-hand navigation bar, between "Accessories" and the other tabs.
How does it work?
Assign owner:
- Open a customer vehicle for editing
- Click the "Different Owner" tab
- Use the "Find Owner" search field
- Select the desired customer
- The contact information is displayed automatically
- Save the vehicle, and you're done!
Ownership History
The system automatically records all changes in ownership:

Q: Can I assign multiple owners at the same time? A: No, only one current alternate owner can be assigned at a time.
Q: What happens to the vehicle history when I delete the vehicle? A: The vehicle history remains in the database as long as the vehicle is not physically deleted.
Q: Can I retroactively change past ownership transfers? A: No, the history is read-only and is intended for documentation purposes.
Q: Will the original owner be overwritten? A: No, the original owner remains unchanged. The different owner is simply additional information.
Q: Does the new owner appear on invoices? A: No, invoices will continue to be issued to the original customer.
